Toby Carvery was full so we came into town for a roast, couldn7have picked a better spot. For ordering the last Chicken and Lamb, the meat was cooked perfectly, not over done, and considering my friend is a chef that's high praise.Didnt expect to get a half a chicken and lamb on the bone but found we could have just ordered off the bone.Only criticism is the veg can be seasoned more, mash with more butter, asked if we want gravy on the side, it's ok but I enjoy pouring my own...read full review

Excellent city centre pub off of the beaten track which serves quality food, offers friendly service, and has a good selection of beers, ciders, wine, and spirits. I use the Nuns regularly and never once have I been made to feel unwelcome. The staff are great, very friendly and polite. The beers are good and well looked after. The food is always a very high standard. Great place with a great atmosphere.
