The Gate Hangs Well Public House
Fosse Way, LeicesterWent for some food a couple of weeks ago and also took some people to the wreathmaking workshop.
Food was good, I had the burger and my son had the fish and chips, with a side of garlic bread. Followed by some apple crumble and sticky toffee pudding.
Top notch food, all seemed to be cooked fresh but not too long to wait. The service was fab too. It was also fairly reasonably priced considering the quality of the food aswell.
The wreathmaking workshop went down really well (it was an early Christmas present for some people). I was being the taxi, so can confirm the snacks that were provided were also nice, as myself and another chap in the bar helped finish them off!

Occasions Mobile Catering
8a High St, Syston, LeicesterThese ladies are amazing, they have just done the catering for my daughters 21st birthday party and it was outstanding. I received a lot of compliments about the food. Everything was stunning from the presentation to the taste. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them to anyone.

Hope & Anchor
Wanlip Rd, LeicesterI’d never been to the Hope & Anchor since it reopened (my own oversight!), but I wanted to pop in to see the pub and meet Lindsey, the owner. So glad we did! The open fires are such a lovely touch. Well done to everyone at the Hope & Anchor Freehold, Syston – we’ll be back, keep doing what you’re doing ❤️

Greggs
U3, 1286 Melton Rd, Syston, LeicesterOrdered pizza and got fresh pizza straight out of the oven.. Manager served me, was very helpful, happy and informative.. Gave me a free coffee which was bonus.. Parking is not so great, it is on street parking and at peak time, highly unlikely not be available...but the store is clean and staff are fantastic.

Pizza deal 2 which is 1x 12 inch pizza a 7 inch Garlic bread 1.5ltr Pepsi 2 chips. £15.50 plus delivery,surcharges . About 20quid.
Pizza was better than I've had round here. Tried loads over the past 2 weeks . Garlic bread wasn't too greasy . Really doughy chips were decent although slightly soggy as they're in a polystyrene tray .
We got a chilli sauce dip this looked oily and really spicy but it was like a naga pickle not hot but had a slight kick afterwards.

David was absolutely amazing! His customer service was brilliant from start to finish. He took the time to explain how they make the coffee, and he did it all with a warm, friendly smile. It’s rare to meet someone so genuine and passionate about what they do. Five stars for David — he truly made my experience great!

So i ordered 3 veg sode dishes. I went in with my granddaughter a they were very nice to her.
Food.
1 of my dishes was alu kumbi. Now last week I ordered chicken and lamb dishes but for a month im vegetarian.
This kumbi was perfect. I wouldn't change anything.
If you want a spicy potato and corn curry, this is the dish. Best veg dish i have tasted
This month of being veg suddenly got easy.
Definitely having the same next week.
I had fried rice and i really like the way they make it with onions.

1151-1155 Melton Rd, Syston, LeicesterWe attended a Psychic Supper with a delicious hot buffet. The owners and staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much. The psychics were also very good and entertaining. We will definitely be going again and would recommend it.

I did have a little moan about only getting a quarter of a nan bread and they bought me a bit more. Really enjoyed it

The Brookside Inn
35 Brookside, Barkby, LeicesterIt was quiet when I popped in, but I had got there just after opening! Been recently refurbished and is nice inside. Only does food on certain days, apparently, so it's worth ringing up to find out any details. It's quite popular amongst the locals, though apparently. Hidden well off the beaten track, but it's worth popping in if you can find it. Very quaint with the brook at the front! You'll have to keep a close eye on your kids, though, if you have younger ones and you're sitting at the front. Staff we're polite and welcoming.
