Lovely little bar, great to go drinking in on a Tuesday or Friday night. Plays good music and has a friendly atmosphere. Drinks are slightly expensive but reasonable. Would definitely recommend Beer Pong too.
The Matrix Club is by the station and entered via a courtyard (good for smokers and summer evenings) down the side of The Yarborough Hotel. it used to be a members only club but is now open to all. The bar has a big screen and is a bit of a barn. No character. Upstairs has pool tables but on a band night it has a stage and can get packed. Many good local and visiting bands. Came midweek so can't really comment on how this place is when it's busy & in full swing. Cool grungy rock bar. Good drinks selection at a reasonable price. Staff were welcoming. Love the pop-culture décor with a "Stranger Things" style Alphabet Wall amongst other installations.
