Absolutely amazing experience! We moved a surprise 60th birthday party here at the final hour after a cancellation elsewhere. The space is beautiful and feels very exclusive. Stephen was a life saver, nothing was too much trouble and he made the night feel incredibly special despite the short notice. Great selection of drinks, really reasonable prices, and a gorgeous venue. We will definitely use again!!

Had a great time at Docks Beers and would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area.

The beers are genuinely impressive — the quality is really high, especially for the local area. You can tell a lot of care goes into what they’re brewing, and there’s always something interesting to try whether you’re into classics or something a bit different.

One of the standout things for me is the atmosphere. There’s always something going on, and I love the selection of events and gigs they put on. It gives the place a real buzz and makes it more than just somewhere to grab a drink — it feels like a proper community spot.

All in all, a brilliant venue with great beer, great vibes, and always something happening. Definitely one of my go-to places!

We attended the Tuesday SEN session and they didn't disappoint! Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely lady working there, she was so friendly, interacted with the kids, made sure needs were met and did everything she could to help. Great setting for children who have a tendency to elope, with safety gates to stop everyone but the hurdlers! We will definately be back!

Popular cafe close to train station, regular flow of customers eating in, take away and delivery. I was staying across the road at the Holiday Inn Express and was stuck for a snack so read reviews and wasn’t disappointed. Simple menu for food and a great selection of bottled beer from around Europe.
The ploughman’s sandwich with salad and crisps was delicious, all fresh and served quickly, washed down with a bottle of Duvel. The only downside I could see was deciding on which drinks to choose.

Lots of reasons, first of all let me say I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere in there it was welcoming and friendly, the staff are great very pleasant people and they don’t mind listening to you! The entertainment is fantastic always a good act on at the weekends & a karaoke plus a Thursday club to play bingo & other games for £2 each I think, win hampers with food laid on free ?‍♀️It was really quite busy last time I went which I was surprised to see with it being the beginning of the week but it just goes to show that even in this current climate with the cost of living if you run a friendly ship with a great atmosphere & good prices people will come time & time again!

Had Haddock & Chips. Chips were amazing. Cooked perfect and crispy (not greasey like some other fish shops)! The Haddock was ok but nothing special. If readers want to know why I gave a score of 4, the white of the fish (especially near the tail third) was kind of stuck to the skin & batter instead of a fresh piece that would slide off with the knife. Using a fork, I had to rake the meat off the skin quite a bit. Tasted generally ok, but perhaps it had been kept in the hot plate for to long causing the fish to dry!

Stopped by Browns for breakfast and it’s a solid little spot, especially if you’re up early. Opening from 07:30 is ideal if you want to get a proper start to the day.

It’s very much a classic greasy spoon — no frills, just good, hearty food done right. Exactly what you want in the morning. The portions are decent, it’s reasonably priced, and it hits the spot.

I ordered the Chicken Gyros Pitta and opted not to have a side of chips because my ‘research’ (looking over the shoulder of another diner) concluded that the chips were massive and probably more than I can handle alongside the pitta. I was right! The pitta was stuffed and really generously filled from top to bottom, with juicy gyros chicken tomato, tzatziki and spices fries - none of your display filling and empty pitta nonsense! Fast and friendly service and because it was a Tuesday, or maybe just because, and I ate in rather than takeaway there was a frankly amazing discount of 30%! I finished with a tub (massive again) of biscoff cheesecake which I had to take home. Will return and probably dream about that pitta.

Just Spent the weekend, celebrating a family wedding .had a family room which was spotless and the beds were very comfy. Had a light lunch in the bar room on arrival, which was very good and reasonably priced. Our evening meal was delicious and the staff pleasant. The day of the wedding started with a nice breakfast. The function room were the actual wedding was held was beautifully decorated. The food was excellent.
The whole weekend was a total triumph. Staff extremely friendly and very helpful. Would definitely recommend.
