Have used Mermaids in the past and the food has always been ok. However we called in Friday 14th Sept at 19:30 . My husband was queuing for almost half an hour before being served . He said there were two young lads serving who were polite . On returning home with our food ( 5 minute drive ) both battered sausages were well over cooked and the chips were soggy . Disappointing ?
Undoubtedly the best fish and chips I have ever had. Fresh as you like haddock in a nice thin crispy batter, golden slightly crisp tasty chips, homemade fish cake had nice chunks of fish and seasoned perfectly.Not greasy at all.Shame it’s so far from where I live!
