A friend of mine suggested I try Wellingore for a place to stay as people are nicer "on the opposite side of the A15". He was not wrong ! Was met by one of the team members "Holly", welcomed to the Red Lion and shown to my room. Room was clean, lots of tea/coffee, a decent shower/bathroom, could not want for more. This pub is an actual delight. It is not accessible to wheelchairs, but if you have some mobility, I highly recommend. Actually attended a wake here - food was great, staff were lovely. Initially indoors which is a nice traditional space. Dog treats on bar, so I suspect is dog friendly. Outside later on, it was very comfortable and relaxed. Great place. Polite and friendly atmosphere. There are plenty of drink choices draft Madri was a winner for me. They do fresh cooked pizza too. So we couldn't leave without one. Very nice indeed.
