“Was staying local and booked for Sunday lunch.had a choice of 3 meats plus veg,roast potatoes,mash potatoes and Yorkshire pudding was lovely.staff very friendly only one snag was the coke was flat couldn't drink it but hay ho 5* for the food.would recommend and definitely return if we was in the area”

“Our first and certainly not our last visit to this most delightful inn. Recommend by a friend, who also recommended the HOME MADE STEAK PIE. Amazing pie, full of beef the whole pie was cooked to perfection, mashed potatoes peas carrots and beans accompanied this delicious pie, also cooked just right.
My good lady had the lasagna with freshly cooked chunky chips delicious. We will definitely be returning frequently. Well done all.”

“Lunch was exceptional! I had the fish and chips, which included a generous amount of homemade chips and a beautifully cooked fish in crispy fresh batter! My partner had the sea bass was was so tasty, with new potatoes and a stunning sauce!
Wish we could have done dinner too but we were already sorted at our self catering accommodation nearby…but next time we will be there!!
Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the beer was delicious.
Highly recommend to anyone in the area. Only reason I’ve given 4 for atmosphere is because it was quiet at lunchtime.”

“I come here to have a drive out in my fast car across the wolds. This pub reminds me of old england when it was a great place and it gives you a great feeling. The moshrooms came out within five minutes of me ordering and very nice.the steak was cooked just right as requested and it wasnt catering butcher meat, it was great quality with the flavour of the cut coming through, plus being charcoal cooked yummm. The chips wow, not had chips like that in years, tasted so clean, zero grease and the potato so fresh, not the over cooked and sat saturated tripple cooked but just as crunchy wow. The sauce and trimmings great. Im coming back for more chips, and fish and gamon another time with chips. This was great quality and the prices great and gastro quality witout the price and poetion size its great here ????”

“Superb food! Tasty hot and plentiful. Really good prices too, and very well presented. The pub has a very interesting connection to Elton John and Bernie Taupin. There is a plaque inside with some handwritten lyrics and the story of Taupin’s connection to the place Worth a visit , and definitely recommended!!”
