“Called in Thursday evening for a couple of beers and food after a days fishing in the area. Large country style pub. Decent selection of beverages good food menu and friendly staff. The pub is closed Monday and Tuesday open from 6pm Wensdays. Would call again if in area.”

“Lovely little country pub, stopped for a late lunch on Saturday, fast service & food was excellent for the price. Last time I visited was a few years ago & had Lincolnshire sausage pie couldn't find it on the menu this time which was a shame as I remembered how delicious it was, ordered a all day breakfast which was lovely although not Lincolnshire sausage, my partner had a cheeseburger which he said was lovely.”

“It was my husbands 60th so quite a large group, the pub was very busy as always, the staff are amazing, they never stop, the food was brought to our table hot and delicious, a mix of carverys and daily menu, they let me bring my own cake which they presented better than i ever could have for dessert. Never a disappointment at the crown. “8 of us visited for a family birthday and had the Sunday roast. ? ( 4 had beef, 2 had pork, and 2 had Gammon)The food was amazing, and there was plenty of it and loved the huge gravy boat. ?..veg came in side dishes which is fab as not everyone likes the same veg. “The George is now under new competent and professional management. The refurbishment of the inside is nearly finished and makes the pub very welcoming. I will add new photos to this review when I have a chance. Probably in Mid-march. The carling is very well kept.”

“Lovely large, comfortably furnished and appointed bedroom with ensuite shower room. Room was warm and our two night stay in mid November was very enjoyable. Great food and the staff were friendly, efficient and welcoming. Will be staying here again.Rooms: Situated in centre of town, free parking on public square opposite hotel. Excellent food and service with well appointed rooms.Walkability: Situated in town centre close to shops.Food & drinks: Excellent food with a varied menu catering for all tastes.”
