Just got back from Stamford where my friend and her young son had taken me for lunch at the Kings Head . It was a dreadful day weather wise and we were glad to get in out of the rain. As soon as we entered we were greeted warmly by two young ladies who found us a table even though the pub was busy . A drinks order and menu was provided quickly and the extremely well presented food came in a timely fashion. It's nice, cozy tap room, couple of appropriate handpulls, basic food menu. Portions are small...so you won't be excessively overeating but there's a distinct lack of vegetables/salad with most dishes. All table service, so they bring drinks to you...doesn't feel like a pub, but with the number of random steps it's probably a good idea.

Quite Saturday lunchtime due to the local horse trails, made welcome by the friendly staff we had the Brynjar Burgersson burger and BBQ Beef shin burger both really tasty. Nice courtyard and Beer, it did start to fill up as we were leaving. For sure we would go back when we are back in the area.
