Love this chippy, been a customer for many many years. However, the ribs recently reduced in portion size by easily 50% which I found really disappointing. I hate to criticise the place but paying full price for half of what you're accustomed to is sad. A favourite item I'll no longer order. If I notice other reduced portions as others point out I'll be going elsewhere for the first time in years.

Lived in Formby over 30yrs. Always passed James because it never looked busy and assumed meals would be substandard. Was in the pet store next door some weeks ago and thought I'd try some fish and chips. GREAT, fish was huge, couldn't finish off all the chips and £2 cheaper than the other chippies in Formby. Been in a few times since. Very nice pleasant staff. Being a fish, chips and peas man l can't comment on other meals.

Oh come on, what's not to like real quality scrag served by wonderful staff.Dont want something, want to change a dish, just ask them, they shall do their very best to fit in with your choices.All at very fair prices.We all need to be supporting Local Businesses & Trade, especially when they do it this well.Now, I'll be havin' mine without the veg, can you change this for that & that for this?Perfect, i'll go and have a swift pint or two whilst it's being done& gimme some of those...read full review
