We felt like the locals we now are from the very first minute we walked in, and Thierry greeted us with his easy familiarity and hilarious wit. We love Thierry, we love Holly, we love Amanda...it's impossible to not love Eaton Cottage with such wonderful people behind the bar. Called in twice recently for a drink on the way back from Unthank Road shops. Received a warm welcome from different bar tenders on the two ocasions who were very polite and friendly. Pub is atttractively decorated with plenty of greenery making you feel like you are in a cosy cottage. Quality carpeting in lounge with all surfaces spotlessly clean. This is a locals pub, there are no bells or whistles, it's what it is and it does it well. I go there mainly to watch football. Prices are a little lower than average, they really don't do food, apart from the odd roll and packet based snacks. But sometimes you don't need a place providing gastro pub cuisine or the latest cocktails. This is a pub, not a bar, with great staff and atmosphere. Nuff said.
