A sweet little pub near Norwich Uni Art Department.We went on a Saturday lunchtime and although it advertised food, there was no food available, which was disappointing.We went back 'early evening' for another drink and there was a really nice 'vibe' to the place.It was clear that there were several locals in and it had a nice friendly atmosphere.There was a good selection of beers and the service was friendly and relaxed.We parked in the multi storey car park a minutes walk away.
We've been here a few times in the last couple of months and the roast dinners never disappoint. Excellent tender roast beef, and super friendly staff. It's definitely our new favourite place for a Sunday roast.
I hadn't been in this pub for decades as I'd lived abroad for many years. In the 70's this was the home of Camra, the Campaign for real ale and was full of large men with beards, beer bellies, roll-ups and leather pouches for their tobacco and various sundry items. Ahh those halcyon days... These days, it's still a great pub but now they do very good burgers, I think from BunX but I'm not sure, Possibly ex-BunX and set up on their own, I can't remember.
