Had a mixed first experience when we visited for lunch on a Monday in late October. We arrived c1215pm and over the time we were there it became very busy. The positives - the real ales were good. I really enjoyed my local crab salad, as did my wife with her onion rings "side". The not so goods : there were periods when there was no one available at the bar for 5 minutes plus. Really liked the Lobster Inn (thank you to Mandy) which was convenient for our small group on a few days holiday. Breakfast was excellent, pub meals were also very good.If I had any negative points to make, it was the noisy air con unit which was positioned on the flat roof outside the window of Room 1 which was on all night. Ate here before going to the theatre. What a great pub! Has old fashioned charm, quick service and great food.Food & drinks: Crab and avacado sandwich - possibly the best sandwich I have ever had!
