We have just been to the Malt Shovel for lunch. We arrived on spec without booking. We had the 2 course menu, the food was exceptional, the service was amazing, the atmosphere was warm & cozy. I would definitely recommend this pub. I will definitely be coming again.
We booked Sunday and I have to say this isn't the first time I have been here and won't be the last. Every time I have had the Sunday Roast it has been excellent. The food was hot, delicious, plentiful. I had beef and it was yummy and tender, the others had chicken and pork (with crackling) and all said they enjoyed their food. Giant Yorkshire Puddings too! Loved everything about this place and will certainly be back. The steak pie was packed with really tender meat and was complemented by really delicious veg and even better gravy. The risotto was also wonderful. Would have loved a pudding but just couldn't manage to fit it in. The staff were really great and made us feel really welcome. Thanks for a lovely experience.
