Amazing little pub. The decor is perfect, the back room has retro games you can play while seated surrounded by old retro pictures, neon lights and old telephones. The hosts are lovely very easy to talk to and welcoming. No food but nice selection of crisps and beers. Outdoor seating too. Very busy and popular met people who travel to the pub from far.

A lovely little restaurant, only a small menu but what they did was really nice. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We've only put 4 stars for the atmosphere because we went on a Wednesday night and they don't normally open that day, so it was very quiet. Having said that, we really liked the quirky decor.

The Old Sawmill Café

The Old Sawmill, Riverside, Clapham, Lancaster

We've just had my father's 90th birthday celebration in the Reginald Farrar room upstairs at the Old Sawmill Cafe in Clapham. My parents have lived in Clapham for a very long time and are very familiar with the sawmill building. Since it opened as a cafe I've been up for Coffee and excellent Bacon Sandwiches with my Dad many times and we love it. For his 90th we checked the upstairs out as a venue and it is brilliant. It is spacious and light; the accessible lift is big enough to accommodatea wheelchair or a mobility scooter (we used it for both); there areplenty of tables and chairs; and there is an accessible toilet upstairs. This is a massive plus for a village location so the venue itself easily surpassed our expectations. So, for our Dad's 90th birthday party, the communication with the Old Sawmill team was great. What the catering team offered for a buffet lunch was exactly what we were looking for and what was laid out for us on the day was even better than we expected. The Reginald Farrar room is a fantastic historic space and is ideal for so many types of event. As mentioned, access to the room for everyone, including wheelchairs, mobility scooters, etc. is easy. The food provided for the buffet lunch was delicious and generous. And everyone on the Sawmill staff we dealt with was ultra-helpful.So, thank you to the Old Sawmill and all the staff for doing a great job for us. Our Dad and the rest of his family had a great celebration of his special birthday. We were made to feel very welcome and also we felt that we had great value for money. If anyone reading this is looking for a venue for any event in the area, don't look any further. You're not going to beat this.

Really good Sunday roast and good vibes at this place. The food was quality and the beers were nice. However the beef slices in the Sunday roast were definitely waaay too small. Nice stop after a walk though ?

The three of us plus our large dog were made most welcome. As an ex publican myself, I am particularly critical. The bar was well managed, clean and tidy. The Amber ale and the Suprise Santa ales were well kept and couldn't fault taste or texture. The menu gave plenty of choice and we can vouch for the steak, ale and mushroom suet pudding, the Morecombe Bay Chicken and the half chicken. Portions were generous, chips were lovely and the service was friendly, prompt and professional. When we come back to the area visiting, we won't hesitate to return.

I drove to over 20 cities in Europe and was honored to find interesting places. ^^ There were a lot of good products, and I bought a gift for my mom, a gift for the kids, and snacks for us to eat.The crew was friendly, and the visiting grandmothers greeted us kindly and wondered where we came from.^^I said I was from Korea, and my grandmother said I was really welcome and was happy^^My wife and I have good memories?
