“Dog friendly! We had two battered cods, one scampi and a cold roast ham. It was all lovely! Especially the homemade onion pickle, which combined beautifully with the ham. The batter on the fish was lovely and crispy, while the cod was light and moist on the inside. Might have to come back and try the pickled egg in a packet of crisps (now homemade)...”

“A very quiet pub when we went in, real ales were great and kept well. I did find out this pub is up for sale so maybe that is why the atmosphere was a bit lacklustre.”

British • “Recently moved to Middleham and enjoyed dinner at the Tack Room. My wife and I were welcomed to the town and enjoyed superb food with impeccable service.
Returned today, with visiting family, for a Sunday lunch and could not have been more impressed. Excellent food and great service. My guests from Wakefield were quick to remark that they will be happy to take a trip up just to enjoy the experience again! The team are great - thank you. We will be back.”

“Best Sunday lunch ever. We were a party of 5 and two well behaved dogs and they accommodated us in a little snug area, so it felt like a private dining experience. The staff were so lovely, friendly and very good at their jobs, food was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend.”
