Had been looking forward to coming to The Star for a long time. Beautiful evening and a table with a great view on the terrace. Fab waitress. Lovely wine. However I was rather disappointed with my main course. Braised ox cheek with risotto. I requested baby potatoes or fries rather than risotto but apparently chef wouldn't have been happy. It was our first visit here and will definitely return. It's a few notches up from your Sunday lunch in the local pub but for us it was a special occasion meeting old fiends for a meal. Great they also offered a fish and vegetarian option. Between us we had the beef, lamb roasts and the fish fish - all were delicious. Our waiter Kayleigh was wonderful!

Excellent food, excellent service, only disappointment was that, initially, we were given warm white wine. The excellent waitress rectified this for us fairly promptly, but it should never happen in a restaurant of this standard.
