We've just returned from a wonderful night away at the Fairfax Arms, and we're already planning our next visit!We booked it fairly last minute and thought it looked nice, but it exceeded our expectations at every step.The pub itself is stunning and looks really impressive on the approach. Visited restaurant for lunch (Saturday). Smart restaurant, good food, pleasant service, reasonable price, quiet village location, good spot to sit outside for food or just a drink, in summer.Nearby activities: A couple of hundred yards down the road at the side of the Fairfax Arms is a large miniature railway site, worth having a nosy at in case trains are running. Just visited for lunch - what a find, lovely decor, friendly service & superb food. I had a burger which was delicious, plentiful & meaty! My husband had a steak, very well cooked. We shall certainly be back. The location is also very impressive.Walkability: Worth a wonder around the village after a visit.Noteworthy details: Lovely smelling body lotion provided in the public toilets
