Atmosphere was great but the service was very slow. It took more than 30 minutes to get our food. Menu selection was fine but the steaks we ordered were not worth the money we paid.
The member of staff who served us was lovely and attentive without being intrusive. I would say there were a couple of other waiting staff who did come across more aloof and almost rude, so I understand what is meant in some of the other reviews. We ate here as part of York Restaurant Week. We thought it was a good opportunity to try the restaurant, having already had coffee outside on another day. We had the three course tasting menu for £30. It was excellent. The veloute was super smooth with other textures added that made it special. The lamb was tender and the chocolate parfait with blackberries was delicious. We will be back!
