I will confess that I have been recommending the Cafe Oak to locals and clients in the hundreds over the years as well as it being a place we always take all of our own house guests to enjoy. I have never heard anything but praise and enjoyment from all, and as I take my recommendations quite seriously, I always ask. So gutted this wasn’t as nice as i thought it was going to be. Lovely place to sit and the staff were lovely. but the food was disappointing. the cake and flapjack were stale so I didn’t even eat that. Wont be visiting again unfortunately

Here with friends today for a lovely afternoon tea. Plenty of sandwiches followed by scone with cream and jam and a selection of cakes. Lovely service from the friendly young waitress. Have been here a few times for lunch, food always delicious and good value.
