Organised a small buffet after my son's funeral . Service was short at the Crematorium but even though we arrived very early and just after power had been resotred to the building the Landlady made us so welcome, Made us teas and coffees and was cheerful and friendly. She had arranged for an area at the back for us to collect. It was a really warm and cosy atmosphere everything clean and tidy. Christmas menu 2 fabulous courses each. Pre started with a festive sparkling drink. My starter was terrine of chicken and ham, larger than average portions, absolutely delicious terrine, with chutney and toast again good size portion of toast and butter. For my main course I went for the beef cheek, so very tender it almost melted in my mouth, this was served on the most creamy mashed potato ever, accompanied by sprouts which were perfect, as were the carrots and parsnips. 10...read full review
