The Maghera Inn

An 'olde worlde' bar restaurant which was busy and fully booked for Sunday lunch. They offer both a set menu together with daily specials on the blackboard. The waitress was very helpful matching the food on offer, to our dietary requirements. Parking can be problematic as limited spaces in the car park. Care required during entry and exit as roads are narrow.

Maginns

Love this bar! Food is delicious and there is something for everyone- vegetarian and vegan options, lighter meals as well as more hearty ones. Staff are so friendly and helpful, and there’s a nice warm fire too. A lovely spot for a winter lunch.

Turnip House

I love this place! Every time we go in we have a great time and everything we eat and drink is always beautiful. So welcoming you could sit the whole day and not feel you’ve over stayed your welcome. The arts and crafts are beautiful also. Really worth a browse.

The Yard Restaurant

Had a fab meal here on a whim after a day trip to Newcastle.
I had wings (proper spicy buffalo with blue cheese sauce and celery) then 6oz burger, my mum had duck main followed by chocolate & coconut tart, as pictured.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Nana's Kitchen

Just back after a lovely club sandwich and lovely tasty chips followed by the most delicious apple tart and ice cream..def will be coming back..lovely staff and atmosphere.

Luna Coffee

Hidden gem. I’m quite fussy about coffee, cappuccinos in particular (Italy spoiled!) This little place gave the option of short, medium or long coffees, which is generally rare in Northern Ireland. Cappuccino was exceptional, up there with the best coffee I’ve had outside of Italy. Strong, short, smooth and well balanced. Friendly and quick service. Not a lot of seating inside, but some outside. Not that it mattered as we were getting coffee to go. Highly recommend. Easily castewellans best cup of coffee. Good selection of eats too. Thanks!

Turley's Bar

With views of the Mourne Mountains be sure to reserve a window seat. The food was excellent and a good selection of dishes on the menu. The atmosphere was relaxed. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Good selection of beers etc. Would easily recommend based on my experience.

Old Tom Bar

Great wee bar one of the best stouts I've had in age's bar staff/owner are very friendly and extremely attentive. The locals are very friendly, and made us feel very welcome and made us feel at home.

The Fountain Bar

After reading reviews on here. I rang around other restaurants to try and change my table, unfortunately I couldn't get a suitable time to accommodate everyone in our group.\nWell I am so glad. \nFrom the 1st point of contact with fountain Lane, everything was perfect.\nI emailed them b4 hand and they reserved us a beautiful big round table, with plenty of room.\nThe food was unreal, everyones steak was cooked to perfection, and portions were plenty, everyone of us can't wait to return. Staff couldn't do enough for us, and 3 of the young girls serving actually brought out my sisters cake singing, staff reserved a booth down stairs for us as it was a Saturday evening and a special occasion. Note its January, and they may not be able to in busier months, so thank you fountain Lane for making my sisters 40th dinner such a lovely night.

I've called in a couple of times recently for breakfast. Usually on the way to a golf course. Couldn't fault it. Friendly and helpful staff, delicious food well cooked and very well priced. Definitely would recommend!

Urban Food & Coffee

Lovely little cafe in the village. Great feed, lovely coffee and very well priced with lovely staff. They don't allow dogs inside, but that's all good, they even dried the benches in the rain for us.

Taste of New York Pizzeria

Order regular for home Pizzas,dough rolls and Southwest twister are always top quality. Deals are very reasonable. Delivery guys regularly early. All round first class.

The Oak Grill

Very busy chippy, staff where friendly and helpful. I got a chicken burger meal and it was lovely. Only downside was they forgot to put salt on my chips although they were very busy. But food was delicious and will be back when im near there again.

Zebedees

Great food. Great service. Wonderful portion. They were extra kind to us just coming in from Canada. We both had the fish dinner. The batter was perfect. The fries were crisp and tasty. Highly recommend.
