Just been out for a family birthday celebration. Last minute thing as usual in our house. Hard to find a decent restaurant open early in the week anymore round here. Sue and I are always drawn towards fresh fish on a menu. Without going into each dish in detail, suffice to say, both the Salmon and Cod were a delight. Went there for a Christmas lunch with business colleagues. This is a lovely pub and restaurant located in the middle of beautiful Hillsborough. The menu offered a great selection for everyone and service was very helpful and pleasant.Food was very good considering it was a very busy time on Christmas week, so that was excellent, and everyone was well pleased with the lunch.

Went for dinner tonight with my husband and daughter. The ambiance is amazing and it is a very cosy place. The food was amazing- I have never tasted better wheaten bread- the chicken wings were perfect, meaty and the perfect balance of sweet and hot. The pork belly was excellent. Portion sizes are generous and my daughter’s cocktail was perfect. This place is well worth a visit. We will be back again.
