Really enjoyed a visit today. The ice cream is always the great draw, but this time we were buying a floor mat, porridge oats, and other random things. There’s a huge variety of toys, food and household items here. They sell books on local history, and the R.S. Ó Direáin / F. McHugh one, Islandmagee and Templecorran: a Postcard History, has the story of The Rinkha inside! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Toy ankylosaurs up on top of the till! Probably the most famous shop in the area, their icecream is fairly famous, with people visiting from all over to try it. It is perhaps best described as a local convenience store wher you can buy everyday essentials. But the icecream is certainly the best I've ever tasted, I may be a bit biased, my mum used to work there under Billy Hawkins, the original owner, I believe his sons run it now, but that was back in the 60s. An amazing shop! Open all year round, and with their amazing secret recipe ice cream, not to be missed.
