This is the only pub in the town we (including our dog) felt welcome. It's a basic pub. Good beer, friendly service, very reasonable prices, clean ladies toilet. Range of entertainment and sport on TV. Bit of chat with regulars. Ideal if you're a Magpies fan, but fine if you are not.
Was staying in Newbigging for one night stopover and a journey to the Highlands and am so glad we did as the place is fantastic. I popped into the pub on a Saturday afternoon to watch the football and racing whilst my wife rested at our accommodation after our long drive north. I just popped in for a pint one evening, I went in because I could see from outside that they served Theikstones best bitter.Pint was spot on.There is a good selection of beers and spirits. I like dark rum and I could see they stocked three very good ones.The pub inside is a temple to Newcadtle United, I imaging you could have a great afternoon if Newcastle were playing.I will return in the near future.
