This place doesn't need a fat secondary school cookery teacher to tell it how good it is, but regardless I'm doing it anyway.Booked in for the eight course taster with matching wine EVERYTHING was tremendous. The sourdough from an 11 year old starter, the three unexpected starting canapés, that awesome smoked scallop soup and then the advertised dishes. We’ve been here before and that was an exceptional experience. Sometimes going a second time can feel a bit familiar, but in this case it was anything but. The 7 course tasting menu with the wine pairings was wonderful. The delivery of the wine with an explanation of history, location and how it compliments the food was excellent and the food was sublime. We didn’t go for the Aged Beef this time but I don’t think we would have had room. Service was top notch as expected....read full review
As a couple we went with the 7 course tasting menu and opted to have the additional dish of aged beef with N25 caviar. We also opted for the wine pairing which was definitely worth the money to try wines we never would have tried. The sommelier is clearly very knowledgeable and selected the wines himself to pair with each dish. He explained very well why he selected each wine for each dish.
