Stopped for a quick pint on way back from visiting my wife. Beautiful place on the edge of the Cotswolds, friendly staff, good local beer. Not cheap - but, where is nowadays with costs rising all the time? I'm surprised anywhere like this survives. Well worth a visit - especially on a sunny afternoon, with the river burbling, the ducks on the water, and the boats quacking. Perfect. Great location, nice building with friendly helpful staff, cozy room with all the usual stuff. Comfy bed, nice shower, plenty to do in a 10 minutes drive, my one and only disappointment was the breakfast, the quality was amazing but the "full" English didn't live up to its name. I wasn't full. 1 amazing sausage, 1 bacon, 1 egg, 1 mushroom, half a slice of black pudding, half a slice of tomato, and a tiny bowl of beans.I would definitely return and can highly recommend. Lovely hotel in a fantastic location, run by a friendly and attentive team. Great breakfast, lovely bedrooms, just a few small bits of attention to detail and it would be perfect (deserved of a 5-star nonetheless).
