80 Buchanan St, Balfron, GlasgowThis is the first time visiting Doyle's Cafe. We wanted lunch somewhere new that we could enjoy the drive too and found Doyle's courtesy of Google maps. I love finding places that have a family run feel instead of the big chains and this place filled that brief. A warm welcome from the staff/owners.
We really enjoyed our lunch. Two of us had baked potatoes with cheese and beans, 1 had mushroom and ham omelette, 1 had the soup and a ciabatta with Brie and beetroot and 1 had a coronation chicken ciabatta. Everything came with a simple but tasty salad and a few crisps. The ciabatta is the lightest, tastiest I've ever had.
We booked ahead because our son is autistic and doesn't like waiting but it wasn't busy when we arrived. Food and service both 5*. I gave a 4* for atmosphere only because the decor is a little dated and despite the sun outside it was a little chilly inside. On the plus side they had extra cushions which you could use on the wooden chairs which was handy for my elderly mum who has pain in her back and hips. That was a nice touch and made it much more comfortable for my mum.
It's not local to us so won't be a regular stop but it's certainly somewhere we'll come again.

35 Buchanan St, Balfron, GlasgowMy pal and I Stopped off for a bite to eat before a round at the local golf club. Absolutely top class lentil soup and a filled sandwich. Super friendly and well worth a stop.

127 Buchanan St, Balfron, GlasgowFantastic food - ate here twice in the one week we stayed in the area. The garlic nan bread is fluffy and drenched in butter & fresh coriander, the 3 types of curry all v tasty. Great value, friendly service and funky, genuine retro decor.
