Turnip The Beet

Killearn Mill, Killearn

Went to Devils pulpit and searched for vegan options nearby... turnip the beet came up as nearby. Was quiet as being on Monday so we got served straight away. Menu was a bit smaller than usual but we had more than enough choice to choose from. We have two wraps and a filled naan and the homemade soup...all very good. The tea and almond cappuccino were also very good! Great wee pitstop and host was up for a wee chat and laugh too.

Great restaurant and bar but food was disappointing this time. Soup was lovely but bread with it was stale. Venison burger very dry and inedible and mushroom bourguignon dry and tiny potion for the price! First time was good., second time not which is a shameVegetarian options: Very small portion for a main course costing £17 and quite dry

We called in after visiting The Devil's Pulpit on a day of 'changable' weather.?Fantastic homemade carrot cake and excellent Chai tea.Lovely location and ample parking. If you're in the vicinity this attractive welcoming cafe is well worth a visit.Gift shop next door is very pricey. ?

A nicer tearoom and gift shop you could not find anywhere. Beautiful home baking - delicious soups- tasty snacks and the staff could not be more helpful and charming. A must visit if in Killearn village.

Lovely owner who was happy to take time with her guests and the food was fantastic with a beautiful view. The only negative is that due to the layout, which nothing could be done about re access, views, facilities etc, it was very noisy when full therefore hard of hearing relatives found it difficult to be involved in conversations. In my experience this would be true of any busy establishment. Definitely worth a visit but booking advised
