Now rebranded as The Canny Man, I believe it's under new management and they're working hard to re-establish this as a local favourite. We went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch with another couple, it wasn't busy and the staff were super welcoming. I had the lentil soup to start which was outstanding but the bread came with really unpleasant spread rather than real butter.. The wife had the chicken tempura starter which was "ok" but considering it's £7.50 it was really small....read full review

Lunch menu isn’t on at the weekend - would be handy to have menu’s available online (not just the lunch menu) so people know what your other menu is. Portion sizes pretty small for the price - small ramekin of Macaroni with a slice of garlic bread and a side salad -£13. My two fingers are bigger than the £6 slice of cheesecake! Don’t think I’d go again. Disappointed

Lovely lunch in a lovely place. Really welcoming and friendly server. Very attentive. Food was lovely and really great value for money. Haggis Bon Bons with peppercorn sauce were amazing. Tempura chicken was really tasty and crispy. Aberdeen Angus burgers were perfect with great crispy chips. We were stuffed when we left. Will be back again.
