Apart from thoroughly enjoying our dinner at Big Jessie's I cannot thank Alistair for helping me with a significant car problem. Having just returned on the ferry from Gigha our car would not start due to what I thought was an electrical issue. The AA were unable to come out because of the isolation of Tayinloan. This cafe is ideally placed to serve passengers waitinfg for the Gigha ferry. You can leave your car in the queue and watch for the returning ferry from the cafe windows. We had just missed a sailing so we went in and had a coffee and a scone while we waited. The scones were warm and so fresh they were a bit crumbly, but tasty. The only slight downside was the presence of a yappy dog belonging to another customer, which became annoying after a while.

A great spot to get a tasty, filling lunch or snack (plenty of delicious looking cakes on offer) - friendly and welcoming staff, and a small beach nearby to walk dogs. Please keep your dogs under control and be respectful of the resident hound!
