Nice shop with books and craft goods. Went to café but saw main meals not on till 11.30. We both went for eggs Benedict on sourdough toast. Unfortunately the poached eggs were overdone. Also we saw somebody getting soup that was listed in the menu as not before 11.30. Had we known we would have had that. Overall recommended to try it and the shop has some nice, but pricey, things.
Only discovered this place a few days ago - it's now my favourite café in CD!Extensive menu, great food and good service - what's not to like?I recommend a visit if you happen to be in Castle Douglas.

Outdoors early in the year with a splash of sunshine. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.Wheelchair accessibility: There's a close just a few doors up the street with access to the garden where we got a table for 6 with minimum wait.
