Hotel is a bit dated and in need of redecoration but the staff are very friendly and helpful, the location is excellent and the bed is large and very comfortable. The bedroom was cleaned and tidied daily and towels were replaced if required. Hotel is within 100 metres of 2 tram stops. Overall our stay was adequate but a little pricey.
Staff are the best ever!! Rooms clean, beds comfy & breakfast is superb! Hotel location is also the best! Walking distance to most everything in the city, and Waverly rail station close for trips outside of Edinburgh. We stay at the Old Waverley whenever we come, & I can't say enough good things about this hotel.

This hotel is looking tired and is average in amenities, food, and decor for the price. There are not enough outlets in the rooms, the curtains are showing some fray, and the there is little to no counter space in the bathroom. The service by the staff was very good.
