The food and light, airy space were great. However it took well over half an hour for our soup to arrive and to have the whole lunch - a starter and a cold sharing platter took 2 hours in total! When someone in our party explained that we were waiting for soup we were told that they were short staffed. I completely understand that there are staffing difficulties in the industry but we could have been told to expect a wait when we arrived. The decor and aesthetic of the garden is lovely with the plants and conservatory feel. Service was friendly but very slow for a salad. Also salad very expensive for what you got definitely wasn't 5* quality.

I have been in The Garden several times before. It's a great space. Years ago I drank in The Consort Bar every Friday night. A bit like going home! We were given a warm welcome,a nice table and although the staff were rather busy we were not neglected! The food was fab and a reasonable bottle of rosé wine and then chocolates at the end made it all feel like a special occasion. It was! It was my 76th birthday. I can't write short! Sorry.
