Come for the fish and chips, cooked while you wait and served up piping hot right from the fryer. Don’t come for friendly service or decor (none to speak of). On a nice summer evening we took our food to a picnic table alongside the canal, and enjoyed ourselves. Note: for two adults in our 60’s, one order to split was plenty of food.
We was on a day trip from Edinburgh to Loch ness and back through the cainggorns national park, we stop in the village we decided not to go a cruise on the Loch as wanted to look around and stopped at the fish and chip shop.Also we went down to the point to see the Loch and took some photos .

I was a little hesitant to go here given the reviews but I'm glad we did! This was the best fish and chips we had during our entire stay in Scotland! Everything was made fresh and to order, the gentleman serving us was friendly (and even apologetic about how long it took since we were behind a big family order). We enjoyed a table canal side which made for a fantastic evening as the sun set.
