Restaurants in Grantown-on-Spey
The Craig Bar
Woodside Ave, Grantown-on-SpeyWent here with family. Would recommend for a Very tasty pie at a resonable price. Nothing fancy just a really nice homemade pie. The only issue was the frozen chips but apart from that service was hospitable and cheeky and would recommend a visit if you’re in the area.

High Street Merchants
74 High St, Grantown-on-SpeyDue to weather we were looking for a place to walk to for a meal. We happened upon a review of the Friday/Saturday night evening meal. The meal was delicious, with lots of flavors. We had the duck, the risotto, and the fish pie. A highlight was the Fijian ceviche for a starter. All were amazing. A small fire in the back and art from local artists on the walls gave it a cozy and unique atmosphere. If you are in Grantown on a Friday or Saturday book at table in advance. This husband and wife team will take good care of you.

KJ's Bothy Bakery
Ind Est, 9/2 Achnagonalin, Grantown-on-SpeyPopped in for takeaway coffee and pastry + a loaf. Really friendly staff, great pain au chocolat. The coffee wasn’t my favourite (asked for a long black but too long + too hot) but not bad, still drinkable. Will be back!

The Wee Puffin
15 High St, Grantown-on-SpeyA very big thank you to The Wee Puffin.
Myself and my wife stayed in Grantown-on-Spey as a last minute booking. We were unsure where to eat and so we checked google and The Wee Puffin came up with some very good reviews. We were sold.
My wife called to see if we could book a table and with no fuss at all our table was reserved. We decided, as we had left it so late, to see if there were any tables for New Year’s Eve. My wife called them back and was told we could have a table, no problem, so we booked New Year’s Eve as well.
We had our first meal and to be honest not a lot could beat the standard of the food.
The restaurant is only small but is nice and intimate with a small simple menu, none of the ridiculous, busy menus that you get in other restaurants.
The food was amazing, I had chilli nachos to start followed by fish and chips. My wife had mozzarella sticks to start followed by mac n cheese and it was delicious. I had brownies to finish and we also had drinks throughout the meal.
Extremely reasonable price of £68 for the two of us..
New Year’s Eve came around and again I had the chilli nachos with a portion of jalapeño poppers followed by steak and ale pie and my wife had jalapeño poppers followed by chilli nachos as a main. Again the food was amazing. To finish I had a portion of chocolate fudge cake which was delicious.
Like I said not a massive choice, a very simple, small menu with some really good choices and all cooked fresh and to perfection.
I would defo recommend this restaurant.
GREAT FOOD AND GREAT SERVICE.
Thank you for making us welcome.

Clootie Dumpling Restaurant Ltd Within the Speyside Centre
Skye of Curr Rd, Grantown-on-SpeyWe had a wonderful Mother's Day High Tea at the Speyside Centre. There were 6 of us, including 2 children, and everything was amazing! The food was absolutely delicious, beautiful homemade scones and the service was fantastic. The staff are so friendly and helpful, even preparing a special high tea for the children, which was such a lovely touch! After our meal, we took a walk around the nursery and enjoyed browsing the beautiful plants. The whole place is just stunning. We had a lovely afternoon and will definitely be back again. Highly recommend a visit there!

Claymore Bar
12 High St, Grantown-on-SpeyMy new local for when I am in the Grantown-on-Spey area. Warm welcome and friendly helpful staff. Looked forward to going in each day. Regulars friendly and is dog friendly too. Often feel a bit awkward in a pub I have not been in before but lady behind the bar immediately made me feel welcome and at ease - no mean achievement. Regulars all greeted by name which is top customer service. Would willingly have stayed but unfortunately only booked hotel for 3 nights... Will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

Sylhet Brasserie
36 The Square, Grantown-on-SpeyVisited during Christmas break. This is an authentic Indian restaurant with bold, traditional flavours. The chapati was excellent — fresh, soft, and one of the highlights of the meal. The main course was very rich in spices and quite hot. If you’re not used to spicy food, it’s definitely better to tell them in advance to make it mild, as the default level is very spicy, if you are Indian tourist and craving for Indian food you will be satisfied here for sure.
The food overall was near to decent, but the service was just okay and could be improved. Overall, a good place for authentic Indian cuisine, especially if you enjoy strong flavours and well-made chapati
