Inverness Botanic Gardens is a smaller but beautiful destination featuring a series of greenhouses and outdoor floral displays. Admission is free, with donations encouraged for maintenance. While there is a café on-site, some visitors found the prices, like £3.25 for a scone and £4.00 for crispy bacon on a nice roll, to be a bit high. The gardens are worth the walk from the city centre, and even when closed, a "wild garden" outside offers winding paths to explore. The garden closes admissions 15 minutes before the official closing time.
