Armstrong's Bar & Restaurant
Roundyhill, Glamis, Angus, RoundyhillMy family and I have just enjoyed a lovely meal here. I called ahead following a visit to Glamis Castle and when we arrived our table was already set for us outside due to our dog being with us. The young man who served us was excellent, we were made to feel very welcome and we all left an empty plate behind as our food was delicious. A local resident recommended the restaurant following a great day out at the castle as Armstrong’s is five minutes away. We ate early, our food arrived promptly and we all left happy. The restaurant filled up during our meal which was nice to see. My final comment would be ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’, we almost did as from the outside the restaurant isn’t that appealing although I will add it’s very clean and tidy. So don’t drive on, pull in and have yourself a very pleasant dining experience.

42 Bank St, KirriemuirWe stopped here for late lunch today. I had soup and my husband had a sandwich. Both were lovely. Afterwards we had a lemon sponge cake and an iced ginger cake. I can honestly say, these were quite possibly the best cakes I have ever had...really delicious and so light. The service was excellent too. Super all round.

The Garden Cafe, Pathhead Farm
Pathhead equestrian, cafe and garden centre, Forfar Rd, KirriemuirNice hidden gem in an equestrian centre. Stopped for lunch while in the area ?️
I had soup and scrambled eggs and they were both delicious. The cappuccino wasn't great. There's room for improvement. But I'm Italian and I have very high coffee standards ? apparently ?
Anyway, the lady that was handling the place was very nice and so was the rest of the staff.
The tattie soup was very hearty and tasty (and I don't even love potatoes!) I truly enjoyed it.
Definitely recommend a stop here to anybody close by. Also, loved saying hi to the horses up close.

The Star Rock Shop
25 Roods, KirriemuirA very sweet lady served my friend and I today. She knew her stuff! Great suggestions and told me a bunch of cool stuff about candy history and how it was made differently. Their berry ice cream is amazing btw, also their humbugs are very delicious.
A place that’s worth the visit, being the oldest candy shop in Scotland!

4ba, 17 High St, KirriemuirWhat a delightful family business. I was in today and got some amazing mocha's and penguin rocky road. The owner (and other staff) were so friendly and her daughter was the most delightful little girl who was so smiley, helpful, kind and genuine. An absolute credit to the owner. The place was so clean, with an amazing vibe. Definitely worth a visit. I am gutted I left my purse in the car, as I wish I could have left a tip. ♥️

The Attic Club
St Malcolm's Wynd, KirriemuirWell they opened with two weekends of great bands ? The place is spotless, great Madri, selection of Thatchers and fabulous cocktail jugs. Staff are professional, polite and really know their game. Amazed to meet people who had travelled from Dundee, Aberdeen and Glasgow! It has a real feel of being on holiday and great for the town. Well done to the new owners and their team.

Thrums Takeaway
Shielhill Rd, Northmuir, KirriemuirWent in by chance after spending the day with my father.
The Woodville inn, as the restaurant says outside, has around 20-30 place settings.
First impressions were very positive, met with a smile, and even the chef (Mike) came out and said hello, but he knows my dad.
Two high tea meals were beautifully presented and full of flavour. The chips were amazing, and the chicken and beef were very tender.
Well worth the stop and hope to be back again.

27 High St, KirriemuirVery decent amount of food in their munchy boxes however it's mediocre nothing special. Pizzas are also okay but at around £12 for a pizza I'm not so sure it's value for money, good enough food if you can't be bothered cooking or had a long day at work. Delivery took forever one night but was very quick the other so mixed opinions on that I guess some nights are busier than others which is totally fine.
