Very much a working man's pub with basic comforts. You are likely to hear some coarse language. However, the bar staff and patrons are friendly and obliging. They are very welcoming to OAP's. Quite a few of the patrons are OAP's themselves. It is a safe place to frequent. Their ales are very good and not expensive.
Friendly local at far end of racecourse,depending on which you come from.Always two quaffable real ales on offer along with the excellent Sam Smiths cider.Friendly staff always happy to oblige.

Great dog friendly local pub, good craic good ales great staff friendly locals. The owner let us park our motorhomes and stay overnight. He even took the husbands up to the park n ride to collect them. Now that's beyond great service.Highly recommend and hope to return soon.
