“The staff dealt with us very efficiently and effectively, they were so attentive but not overwhelmingly. Only expected to get a few drinks and food but ended up having a boozy afternoon which went down a treat! Shoutout to Louis, Rachel and Iona who made sure we had a great afternoon! Thank you again!”

“One of the best pubs in town, with great food, friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. Food is in fact better than in some of the fancier restaurants in town.”

“What a lovey place! We stopped for an evening meal on a Sunday while passing through. 2 adult and 1 child meal- portions were perfect. The roast beef was the best I have ever had. Just enough room for us to share the raspberry Sunday.
Staff were lovely, friendly and welcoming, will 100% visit again when passing
The garden has a great view of the bridge & old railway crossing too!
Parking: Plenty of room for table numbers, residential area so street parking also available
Kid-friendliness: High hairs and children’s menu / drinks available. Play area in garden”

“I really like this pub. It seems unpretentious and has good beer. A CAMRA pub, and deserves that: the beer is well looked after.”

“Great atmosphere, especially for golfers given the memorabilia on the walls. Fantastic service. Only let down slightly as not a great selection of beers ( but does have great whiskey)”

“Very busy on a Saturday afternoon, recommend booking a table if you are coming for food. service was a wee bit slow but it was very busy.
Dog friendly in the bar and part of the restaurant (water and treats available). The small plates option on the menu was really good and well priced. No Guinness on tap but lots of other options on draft.”

“When in the area I always visit this place and again I and my friends weren't disappointed. My only criticism was that , I appreciate we were 6 minutes late , we seemed to be rushed to our table and rushed to chose our food from the menu. A more relaxed approach suits me better. Having said that .... well done to everyone we thoroughly enjoyed the evening”
