This has been a favourite place over the years to stay or just stop for coffee while passing - as we did a couple of weeks ago.Had a cafetière of coffee & shortbread in the lounge and enjoyed the view.We were somewhat taken aback at the cost this year though. No problem with the cost of the coffee, but £7 for 4 tiny pieces of (albeit, delicious!) shortbread seems rather steep!
Due to the time of season, everywhere here was fully booked for meals and the Creggans was no exception. We had tried all other venues for our party of 13 - without a response. The Creggans called us back and said that they could fit us in early, pre-order and would have a special area set up for us. I cannot compliment the service and offering enough. We really lucked out. A cozy and very carefully maintained Inn. a historical landmark, one might say. I highly recommend spend a night or two here on your way to explore Lake Lomond and the surroundings. wonderful breakfasts, with local salmon served Don't forget to try the duck liver with caramelized onions - their chef's specialty. cleanliness, excellent service, wonderful lobby and very convenient location. Add to this the beautiful views of the bay - and you have the atmosphere of this place.
