Stayed at the George inn last weekend for a night as we were diving nearby. The host was really ncie and friendly and offered us a choice of rooms on arrival. He also suggested a local place to eat and made some drinks recommendations of the local cider (which was delicious). We thought we'd left a set of keys and when I called he went and looked for them (they turned out to be in a bag we had with us) but the host was super helpful and really nice. It could have been more welcoming upon entry, but once in there the service was prompt & friendly. The food was good & lovely outlook onto a small patio area. One downside I wasn't convinced they adhered to covid regulations.

My first post-pandemic visit to this well established tavern. The ale was in fine condition and the novel 'Fish-finger Baguette' a tasty and novel light lunch.What isn't obvious from the roadside, is the suntrap back garden to the rear of the property. A delight, when the sun does shine.
