Wow what a find ! After reading the reviews I decided to book a table for dinner as we were staying at a house in the neighbouring village. I called ahead and explained that the dinner was a surprise for my husband’s 50th birthday and he didn’t know our friends were travelling to join us. From the moment we arrived the staff kept the surprise a secret and my husband had no clue and was so shocked ! This is a lovely pub, lots of unspoilt character, fresh white table cloths, fresh flowers and a really warm welcome. The star of the show was, however, the food which was seriously good, served in ample portions and with a good value lunchtime menu. We will definitely return.
We visit The Rising Sun on a regular basis but after a wonderful meal there after we got married in December I had to write a review. We spoke with them about having a 3 course meal for 19 of us after we got married at Taunton Registry office, it was a small celebration but it felt so special. They prepared an incredible three course dinner for us including pigeon, scallops, sirloin and duck and all of it was absolutely perfect.
