We had booked here for a meal before going on The Polar Express at Churnet Valley and we were not disappointed. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff and locals and the atmosphere was so cosy and friendly. We all chose a different meal from the main menu and we all thoroughly enjoyed our choice. The kids meals were made fresh and served hot and all the kids loved their food too. It was very reasonably priced and all plates were cleared, such was the tastiness of the food....read full review

Came here with my 7yo when glamping nearby. It was just the thing - a pretty, atmospheric pub, very family-friendly, with a simple menu of pub classics. We had a decent, well-priced meal, got served by friendly staff, and felt right at home. Thanks!

What a great find , whilst on our way home from chutnet valley . We popped in for a spot of lunch . The staff were friendly and the place was very clean . Food ordered we were amazed at the portion size and the onion rings are to die for. We would definitely recommend this place and will be returning.
