“Lovely little dog friendly pub with some excellent food. We called beforehand to make sure they had space and they let us know they were a little busy due to a staff shortage, but would be able to accommodate us and our dog no problem. Sadly we missed the amazing looking pizzas, but the fish and chips/scampi where really good and the curry sauce was perfect, served in cute little tea cups! Made for a really nice meal. They were friendly, price was good and we would love to go back. ?”

“Lovely little pub. Stopped in when they had The Rev in and it was great. Yes it's not very big but that's just makes it better. Love the toilets, what a great way to save water!!Good beers as well at a good price. Staff all really great. Top work.”

“Stayed in the area and was recommended the Shepherd & Dog for an evening meal. I had already checked out the place earlier in the day with a swift Cider ( this one counts as sustenance as I was walking) and decided to return for my evening meal. The staff were very pleasant and friendly explaining that there was a large party booked in later that evening, so I went straight for the menu to avoid the kitchen crush. The menu offered a good choice and included vegetarian options as well. I chose a classic prawn cocktail to start followed by scampi and chips for my main. All washed down with a pint or two of cider. The food was delicious and the cider hit the spot. A great village pub which appears to cater well for locals and visitors in equal measures , not an easy task. The weather was hot so I chose a table outside next to a gentleman with two beautiful VERY well behaved dogs. ( apart from the Labrador which is obviously a master thief given his superb heist of a bag of salt and vinegar crisps from the bar ) Maybe the gent was a Shepherd ! Very entertaining. I would definitely recommend the Shepherd and Dog Inn at Hollesley.”
