An amazing bar with plenty of seating and Tv's for the sport with a wide selection of lagers on draft as well as a few good real ales. My spirit of choice is Rum, and they have a great selection here, which can cater for a range of tastes. Pool table and electronic darts upstairs along with great decor and wall art. We booked this event for a work night out after a lot of our remote colleagues joined us in Newcastle for an in-person workshop. The Lonsdale ticked all of our boxes for an evening venue: close enough to our office that we could all share cars/taxis to get there after-hours, close to the metro for transport home or to hotels once a few pints were consumed, and a lovely atmosphere with more to do than just sit and drink. Great pub for live sport currently showing all the televised football, rugby, cricket, golf, etc. Student discount of 20% for the academic year when you donate £1 to charity (one-off donation for the whole year discount). Fair prices and a good atmosphere across two levels.
