I used to go here when I was a lad, moved away when married. Took my son here to get our dinners about 4 weeks ago when I was showing him where I used to live, he said they were the best sausage and chips he had had, worth the travel from Chester Le Street. Always liked my meals from here, never changed, still the best. Will return for more !
I've been to Gills quite a few times over the last few years. Fish isn't bad but I decided to buy cod bites this time because the last few times the large cod has been very spars, with more batter than fish. The bites were fine, but the chips are awful. They were all scrag ends and not a decent chip amongst them. I'm not going back. I've always highly rated Gills but I'll be looking at other fish shops in wallsend.
