Decided to have fish & chips here based on previous TripAdvisor reviews. We accepted that because of its popularity that we would have to queue. The owner, very sensibly, asked us whilst in the queue what we would be ordering. A good move to ensure that fish & pie stocks were there ready & waiting for us. Managed to get a table….ok, so it was a bit ‘rough & ready’ but that’s what we were expecting. Hot and tasty food although I do wish they wouldn’t microwave the pies!!...read full review
Can't go wrong with this place. Very friendly and welcoming. Proper fish and chips in a great location overlooking the beach. You get a good portion for a fair price, tasty crispy chips with a chunky piece of fish in a fantastic batter.
The best fish and chips in the area! The fish is made to order (they ask the queue to get them going before you even order to minimise your wait) and is absolutely fantastic. Crisp batter but not overdone, the fish is fresh and delicious. And the chips, oh my god, they are great! Maybe it's something about the sea air and being literal metres from the beach, but they are some of the best chipshop chips I have had in a long time! Gravy? Curry sauce? Peas?
