The Farmers Arms

Absolutely fantastic Sunday lunch at The Farmers Arms, Llanybri. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and friendly, with a real village-pub atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home.
The food was outstanding – perfectly cooked meat, generous portions, and all the trimmings you’d hope for done properly. Crispy roast potatoes, rich gravy, and fresh vegetables cooked just right. You can really tell it’s all made with care and quality ingredients.
The setting is cosy and relaxed, ideal for a family meal or a lazy Sunday catch-up, and the service was spot on without feeling rushed.
If you’re looking for a proper, comforting Sunday roast in a beautiful part of Carmarthenshire, this place is an absolute must. We’ll definitely be back.

The Warren

Excellent experience all over. The food was divine, service impeccable and friendly. Jack and Deri worked really hard to make the whole evening a wonderful experience, including everyone, adding depth to the menu with stories of inspiration, where the produce came from and the inspirations behind each dish.

West End Fish and chips

I first ate here in 1980, and although it has changed hands it's still going strong which is a good thing and the present owners are carrying on the good work. The staff are polite and the service is good. Tasty fish and chips.

Taste Of Thailand

I followed my nose to this little place while waiting for my lunch from elsewhere. After a nice chat with the lady serving and an unprompted strong recommendation from a customer I came back for lunch on Tuesday. The Panang was lovely! So lovely that I’m heading back on Friday to get takeaway for eight of us ?

George's Fish & Chips Of St Clears

Had a delicious Christmas dinner from here, picked it up Christmas eve, cost was very fair. Ample portion of gravy as a side and same with the cranberry sauce, highly recommend, turkey with all the trimmings, will definitely be ordering this year again if they do it again, not 1 bad word to say about it, have had chips from here before and they are delicious, Tommo and the team, made Xmas special, as without them, I would have had a normal microwave meal, thank you, keep up the great work, ?

Tafarn Tanerdy

Where do i start.... we arrived, short notice, large family group for Sunday lunch. The welcome and service was exellent throughout, nothing was too much trouble. We did wait a while for our food, but what do you expect when you are a last minute party of 11 at a busy time. The food was perfect, our slight menu deviations were catered to without fuss! and extra gravy arrived without asking, 10 out of 10 for attention to detail, prices very reasonable too. Thank you Michelle, Lesha, Nicky and the team for looking after us so well, I can highly recommend this family and their lovely pub, we will be back again very soon x

Fantastic bar where you can drink a variety of craft ales, lagers + ciders, a friendly mixed crowd, an enjoyable atmosphere where you can listen to grass roots music usually at the weekend or open mic, comedy or games nights during the week. Well away from the usually crowd, I’d highly recommend as the best bar in Carmarthen.

Hagans Cafe & Chip Shop

Delicious freshly cooked fish and chips, the batter on the jumbo sausage is lovely and light and very crispy. We always go in when we’re in Carmarthen and the guy that serves is always smiling and so friendly.

Had a wonderful dining experience at Cinnamon Indian Cuisine in Carmarthen. The food was full of flavour—perfectly spiced and beautifully presented. We especially loved the [mention a dish if you’d like, e.g., butter chicken or garlic naan].

The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere was relaxed and cosy, perfect for a family dinner or a quiet meal out.

Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants we’ve tried in Wales. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

Go and have a look at the old courtroom upstairs near the toilets.
Food as always is good.

Coffee#1 Carmarthen

Not the fastest to get served but the food was spot on with no complaints from us. Started by sitting downstairs at first but some elderly locals were somewhat high profile so thank fully they have an upstairs here where we could escape.

There is a toilet upstairs which can be convenient and handy to know.

St Catherines Walk

Went for a family meal before the Cinema. We’ve eaten at the Carmarthen branch several times and it never disappoints. Fast & friendly service & the salad bar is always a hit. We were greeted & served by Lowri who I must say made our meal experience even more amazing….thank you Lowri for such great service…you were polite, friendly, very helpful & efficient. Highly recommend this Harvester *****

Pizza Express

We find Pizza Express can be a bit variable around the country but the food and service was great here. The only negatives were that we had to eat with our coats on as it was barely warmer in the restaurant than outside!

The White Lion Inn

Traditional but dated pub with a homely touch was almost like being sat in your Nan's living room. Owners were so friendly and accommodating giving our dog a bowl of water and adding more logs to the fire. Food was really lovely only fault steak wasn't cooked to how we asked but even so was still delicious. Chips were insane home cooked and portions were huge. Lovely little find.

Elaichi

Booked the 'meal deal' on the phone and told them on arrival we had, we ordered from the menu we were given and ate the best Indian meal ive ever eaten, then on payment told we hadn't ordered from the right menu, such a shame because a lovely night was spoit, but thank you for the great service and meal.

USA Pizza

Amazing Place, lovely food, the kebabs are just absolutely majestic, the pizzas are really good, especially the chicken deluxe, but best if eating with more than one person. The wraps are not that bad, and the chips a rather good, service is amazing and just overall really nice food

Plume of Feathers Inn

Great little venue in Carmarthen. The place is very small and with the duke box kicking out tunes it was hard to have a conversation. If you’re looking for somewhere with a great atmosphere this is the place to go

Mansel Arms

Visited this evening as a table of 7; The staff were most helpful and very welcoming. Their patience with 2 autistic children was impeccable and a true credit to you! Food was beautiful and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Wheaten Sheaf

Great to see this little gem reopened with new manager. Cosy, typical pub with no frills. Dog friendly & dart board. Needs more support to do well.... they deserve it.

The Cross House Inn

Haven't rated the food as we only had a bag of crisps with a beer. ( They were lovely crisps though)

Went for a lunch over a very wet and windy weekend. Fabulous, interesting food but without a doubt the experience was made by such a warm welcome from the whole team.

Y Polyn

We booked here after a recommendation from our Hotelier. We were not disappointed. It is high class dining with a welsh spin. The food is expertly cooked and presented, with developing tastes making every mouthful a joy. I was concerned that I would be impressed but hungry when initially presented with the main, however this doubts were dismissed by the end of the meal. It was thoroughly satisfying. The White Chocolate Cheesecake dessert was incredible and really was a highlight.

This place is in the good food guide and the Michelin guide book, I would say though from food this good it needs a Michelin star.

Reservation is essential and it is thoroughly worth it. 5*

Corvus Inn

Another year of trying out the festive menu. As always…. Amazing. New items on the menu. Huge portions. Will be back to try the rest of the menu as it was so hard to choose from. Nice warm restaurant, feels really Christmassy. We tried the loaded festive chips, North Pole chips and Yorkshire wrap. Also had baileys roulade to take away as we were stuffed….. outstanding. Highly recommend. Well done to the chef ?

First time dining at Dexter's. Great atmosphere, if a little dark inside dining.
Good menu, plus the steak options.
We were a large party and all food was cooked and presented well.

The New Curiosity

Absolutely love the food in this place. It's a bonus that a majority of the menu is gluten free. I will always recommend The New Curiosity to friends and family, as the food is consistently well cooked and presented. A relaxed atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff.

The Butchers Arms

I rang in the afternoon for a big table with kids. They don't open until 6 so the lady kindly took a pre-order and had our food ready. Staff were very friendly and polite and the food was delicious! Would definitely recommend and will be going back!

Railway Hotel

We had the pleasure of visiting The Railway Ravers recently and were absolutely blown away. The food was absolutely lovely – freshly made, full of flavour, and clearly prepared with care.
Toni and Angharad were amazing hosts. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Their warmth and hospitality really made the experience special.
We only planned to pop in for an hour, but ended up staying all day – that says it all! If we’re ever in the area again, we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Castle Inn Llansteffan

Stopped by here during a camping trip for a friend’s birthday over the weekend. The fact there were 11 of us and the pub was already busy because of the Cup final didn’t phase the staff at all. They were incredibly welcoming and friendly and the food was delicious. Perfectly cooked chips! Great selection of beers including the locally brewed Llansteffan ale which I’d highly recommend. Incredibly friendly locals too. Fair to say we felt right at home here!

The Blue Bell Inn

The only combination pub/Chinese restaurant I've seen! It's in a village so everyone looks round as you enter but as soon as you go to the counter they carry on about their business.
I had the special chow mein takeaway, it was excellent, with gravy not dry. It looks like there's parking behind but I parked in front so I don't know.

Morgans Traditional Chippy

Although this fish & chip shop is only open until 7:30 pm, we’d throughly recommend Morgan’s for extremely good tasting fish & chips.\nWhilst off the ‘beaten track’ down Water Street (Just off Llamas Street). \nUpon arrival (no queues, which is very surprising), I placed our order and the food was cooked to order, the wait was under 10 minutes and I was served by two very courteous young ladies.\nThe food itself was, was delicious, the standard cod was large enough for two!! The batter very light and very tasty, the chips - all prepared on site from potatoes peeled and double fried, no frozen chips here were very, very tasty! \nEverything was fresh, very fresh.\nA throughly enjoyable meal and very reasonably priced.\nIn summary, ‘can’t fault it’.

Stag & Pheasant

I highly recommend this pub. Superb real ales also Camden “Hells” lager. Dogs are welcome and dog treats are available at the bar. Plenty of sports on the two TV’s and the locals are friendly. Beer garden at the rear.

Really kind smiley staff, lovely Atmosphere, clean and delicious food! I have been here a lot now and they don't ever disappoint me. A nice range of food, and when I requested if I could slightly adapt a meal today Jasmin happily helped. The meal was perfect for my nutrition plan I'm on, so I'm really greatful for their kindness. It's a place I know I can eat. I like their decorations and style in the cafe and cute little afferminations around the place. Great and welcoming place.

The Welsh House Carmarthen

The food was nice, I had cockle croquettes to start which were delicious. For main I had the lamb meatball tagliatelle I was a little disappointed with this as the pasta was overcooked. The sauce and meatballs were nice though and the garlic bread was divine.

Springwell Inn

Excellent service and you definitely get your moneys worth. Food is brilliant and the staff are polite and very welcoming definitely will be returning in the near future

Karm'en Kafé

One of the two highest-rated cafes/eateries in Carmarthen and absolutely deserves that accolade. Attached is Saturday 23rd's brunch menu for reference only.We (2 of us) received a warm welcome, inadvertently chose Kidwelly Castle table (where sister lives, all tables have their own castle name, cute touch) and the welcome was warm and efficient, distributing menus, offering drinks and pointing out the Specials.Dining partner had the Miso Mushrooms special, I had scrambled eggs, with a side of bacon and hash brown. What arrived was far beyond expectations, portions huge, utterly delicious. I normally don't bang on in too much detail but everything was utterly fresh, local, well-seasoned, constructed and creative (e.g. the mushrooms had slivers of brussel sprouts tossed through along with fresh herbs) and hot.Most important to mention - they were the best hash browns I have ever tasted (and I'm a food snob who lives in Australia where food is seriously good).The venue appears small but there's also a downstairs section expanding potential seating and the toilet was immaculate with individual hands towels ...The whole place was a delight, which very much includes those who worked there. Why only 4 stars for Atmosphere? Other than 1 additional couple also eating brunch who left relatively shortly after we arrived, we were the only people there.For anyone reading this ... Please make the effort and support this eaterie. It's worth every penny and needs to be in Carmarthen town centre for a long time to come .... Oriental Garden

Love this Chinese takeaway. I'm very particular about where I get food from, so many bad Chinese places around but I've stuck with oriental garden for over 30yrs now ,it is just the best one around and they will custon make a dish as well. Very obliging and courteous, never had a bad meal in all these years, we have a Chinese about 4 times a year and whenever a new one pops up we try it at some point, but always come back to oriental garden in Carmarthen. Portions are excellent, and prices are good

The Black Ox

Absolutely beautiful food, and very reasonably priced. We were served by the new owner who is very friendly and welcoming. This place has been on my to-do list for years and I was not disappointed. Compliments to the chef, and the thank you to the owner and regulars who made my wife, our dog and I very welcome. Will definitely return.

Pantri Blakeman Restaurant

Gem in the heart of Carmarthen. My party and I were on a brief visit to the old country from California/Massachusetts and had the great fortune of stumbling upon this joint. Perhaps the best local option for traditional Welsh foods—cawl, laverbread, cockles, etc.—and their “milky coffee” was to die for! The two owners offered us some lovely conversation, improved my pronunciation of Welsh words, and gave fantastic insider recommendations for sites to see in the area. Not to mention that the space is littered with interesting pictures and artifacts providing a glimpse into regional history. Pantri Blakeman will certainly be my first stop if I find myself in Carmarthen again.

Coracle Fish Bar

I started visiting The Coracle decades ago, when I was a student at Dyfed College of Art. I haven't lived in Carmarthen since then, but whenever I'm in the area I call at The Coracle. I was there at lunchtime on 17/10/2023, and I was served by the most delightful lady. The steak and kidney pie was quite possibly the best I've ever had, incredibly meaty. I'll definitely continue my tradition of visiting The Coracle, it's the best chip shop I know of.

Golden Lion Hotel

Love the Santa, and the staff, very welcoming home feel pub everyone is so friendly, beer is great, you won’t be disappointed. Always a good laugh. Highly recommend

The Vaults

We popped in for a quick bite to eat. The Vaults is a lovely place, great atmosphere and food. Staff are brilliant. Friendly and professional.We had the sharing tapas menu of 2 tapas +a side for £16. It was delicious, the quality of food was great, and it was very enjoyable.Our only complaint was that the tapas only had 3 pieces of bread and 3 of the meat. Could have done with 4 of each to be a true sharing tapas, but meh. Otherwise, fab.

The Chippy

Amazing food, cod was delicious and had a flavourful batter,the chips were crispy and great big portions. only 5 mins away from the beach so had a nice time eating by the beach. Everything was freshly fried and delicious and lady was very nice

The Point Cafe

Absolutely spotless, excellent menu, good prices, excellent food, exceptional veiw. I highly recommend this place. Also has an amazing choice of wonderful icecream.

Cegin Myrddin

The home made quiche and sausage rolls are the best ever, came accross this gem when holidaying in Saundersfoot, popped to Camarthen for the day, bought both items, loved them that much returned on the Sunday and bought another 3 quiches to take home to Wrexham. 5 wonderful stars for these tasty delicious goodies.

Waverley Stores and Vegetarian Restaurant

This is a fantastic cafe, restaurant and health foods store. The staff are great and the food is really nice - especially for vegans. Do stop in if you're passing through, you won't regret it.

Neil's Fish & Chips

Found on google maps as came off boat at Pembroke heading south not wanting to divert off route too far from where we need to go.
So was perfect.
Large cod and chips £13.90 good load of vinegar when asked good lot of chips.
Shared with other half plenty for the two of us .
Nice large piece of cod.
Really nice highly recommend.
Chips good with nice little crispy bits.
Just like the old days ready to go and hot .

Florries fish and chips

Great fish and chips. Light batter and no grease. Good sized portions at a reasonable price.

The card machine was on the blink when we visited and there are no local cash machines nearby so it's worth taking cash just in case.
