Staying in the area and came to Chepstow for the day. Having a dog can limit the places you can go to eat, but this pub have tables outside overlooking the river. Had whitebait to share as a starter which was lovely. Then we had fish and chips which were fresh, crispy and a large portion and the meatballs as a light lunch which was tasty and the meatballs homemade in a lovely tomatoes sauce dish. Would definitely go again if in the area.

First of all, the people who work at the Riverside make everyone feel welcome. They are attentive and friendly, without being "in your face". We're local to Chepstow; we go to The Riverside often and have never waited particularly long to be served. The food is fresh and varied. One of the nicest restaurant experiences we've had. Fantastic food with a great selection of seafood and a nice little kids menu too, friendly staff, great spot next to the river and the atmosphere and design of the place is very nice. My wife and kids said it was the best looking restaurant because of the decor.Kid-friendliness: Four our five choices on the kids menu. Good portion sizes and same amazing quality and taste
